Game Modes

There are multiple game modes in Unrailed 2: Back on Track that you can select when starting a run.

Endless

• # Players: 1-4
• Playtime: 20m-3h

Build from station to station, collect bolts and upgrade your train. Keep up with ever increasing train speed, defeat bosses and reach new biomes. How far can you go?

Endless mode is the default mode in unrailed. The run starts in the biome of your choice and you can progress towards the next biome by going through the boss level. Various permanent unlocks, such as cartridges and engines, must be done in this mode. Note that the playtime above is take from the in game menu. The actual playtime of a game is usually an hour at least and can go as long as 10 hours, requiring days to complete.

Versus

• Playtime: 5-45h

Compete against your friends and find out who the better track builder is!

Your goal in Versus is to have the opposing team unrail first. You can use bombs to blow them up or drones to steal their items, bombs and drones are constructed using the Versus Constructor Wagon. Teams can consist of up to 4 players on each team.

Starting Layout

The Crafter Wagon starts at level 2 with a Speed-Boost extension already installed.

Stations

All Stations are Crates and have 1 Level Up Crate and either a Wagon, a Extension or a Cartridge. What you get from Crates is based on a Cycle, the 1st is a Wagon, the 2nd is a Extension and the 3rd is a Cartridge

Time Attack

• Playtime: 20m

Get as far as possible before the time runs out!

Time mode gives players exactly 20m to go as far as possible. After 20m, the train speed goes up significantly.

Unlike the other modes, the train does not stop when a station is reached. The distance between each station is about the same as endless mode. By completing tasks before reaching the next station, players can unlock new items for the train, such as new extensions or wagons. When the engine connects to the station, the wagon at the station would be attached to the back of the train (or the front if the engine is the pusher engine). If you do not want to get the wagon to avoid making the train too long, you can skip the station and keep on going right. Cartridges can also be found through all the level.

Time mode also has weekly challenges where players around the world can compete on the same seed every week.
