In the boiler badlands, there is no water. Instead, the map is filled with lava, and the players must fill in the lava to travel across the lava lake.
There are two ways to fill in pools of lava. The player can either use the bucket, where one bucket charge turns one lava source a traversable tile. Or, the player can push a water source by dashing into it, and knock the water source into a pool of lava. Knocking a water source into a pool of lava will cause the entire lava pool to become traversable. However, it is possible to be without any water sources on the map, so be careful when knocking sources into the lava.

The waste slime is a slime that lives in lava pits. If the train paths too close to one of the Waste Slime's lava pits, it will see out the train and set the closest wagon on fire, causing the players to come back to the train and deal with the problem.

Waste Slimes are milkable, their milk gives 5 Bucket cartridges for 20 seconds. See [[Milk]] for more details.

The Junk Golem fires a missile at players after a brief delay. The Junk Golem's attacks are highly telegrafed, and once the golem takes out it's missile, it cannot change direction. This allows the player to quickly dodge out of the way to avoid the missile if they are close to the golem. The fired missile will penetrate through players, and so multiple players can die to a single Junk Golem missile. The junk Golem has a lot of health and, while the can be killed, they required a lot of hits to be killed.
The Junk Golem fires torpedos at players after a brief delay. The Junk Golem's attacks are highly telegraphed, and once the golem takes out it's torpedo, it holds it for 1 second and will not change direction before it fires. This allows the player to quickly dodge out of the way to avoid the torpedo if they are close to the golem. Fired torpedo can pierce through players, meaning multiple players can die to a single Junk Golem torpedo. The Junk Golem has a lot of health and, while the can be killed, they required a lot of hits to be killed.

With careful planning, players can use the Junk Golem's torpedos to mine resources, and, even kill other Junk Golems (see [[Achievements]]).

The Boiler Badlands boss fight is the Torpeboss. In the boss fight, stone is only available at the top of the map while wood is only available at the bottom in limited quantities. The Torpeboss constantly fires a barrage of missiles at the player, which the player must avoid. At certain sections of the levle, Torpeboss will also launch lava pits in front of your tracks. Most of the time, these lava pits will block the entire map. At this point, it is recommended that the players push one of the water shrines into the lava pit which will entirely remove the lava and turn the lava into walkable stone, allowing the players to continue to progress through the map. Once the players reach a certain point the boss will also fire purple homing missiles that will slowly target the player.
